Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead architecture design and delivery for software products within a Commodities Trading environment. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on expertise, and the ability to balance business priorities with scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
· Lead architecture decisions across portfolios, aligning multiple stakeholders and managing differing viewpoints
· Design pragmatic, scalable, and implementable solutions balancing risk, complexity, cost, and business value
· Apply enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and utilize EA tooling
Collaboration & Communication
· Partner with business and IT stakeholders for strategic and day-to-day technical decisions
· Translate business requirements into technical solutions and manage stakeholder expectations
· Facilitate discussions across technical and non-technical teams
· Actively contribute to engineering and architecture communities
Problem Solving & Innovation
· Diagnose complex problems and implement effective solutions aligned with trading systems
· Manage dependencies, risks, and technical trade-offs
· Drive innovation while maintaining system stability and performance
Technical Skills & Experience
Core Development
· Expertise in at least one: Node.js, .NET, .NET Core, Python
· Experience with cloud-native development on Azure and/or AWS
Frontend
· Strong experience with React and micro-frontend architectures
Data & Architecture
· Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases
· Experience with cloud data platforms and federated architectures (Data Mesh)
· Strong knowledge of data engineering, pipelines, warehousing, storage, and lifecycle management
· Experience with big data, streaming, IoT, and low-latency systems
· 3+ years in Data Architecture including logical data modeling and medallion architecture
Cloud & Integration (Azure Focus)
· Hands-on experience with Azure services including:
o Azure Functions, Web Apps
o Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Storage
o Azure SQL, Cosmos DB
o Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
o Azure Active Directory
· Experience with event-driven architectures (Event Hub, Kafka, Event Bus)
· Integration experience with Confluent/Kafka, API Management, Logic Apps
Additional Technologies
· Exposure to OpenLink Endur, SAP HANA, Salesforce, API management, MFA
· Experience with ELK stack
DevOps & CI/CD
· 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines
· Tools: Git/GitHub, Azure DevOps (VSTS), Terraform, Ansible
Experience Requirements
· 5+ years of experience in trading environments
· Proven experience in solution architecture and enterprise-scale systems
· Strong background in cloud migration and modernization of legacy systems
