Sr. Product Owner (Mortgage Data)
Job Title: Sr. Product Owner
Location: McLean, VA (5 Days Onsite – Locals Only)
Pay Rate: $60.00/hr C2C Max
Client: Financial Services Client (via The Staffed)
Duration: 6 Months (Extension Possible)
Requirement: 8+ years of experience; Mortgage domain expertise; Local to VA.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Core Experience: 8+ years as a Product Owner or Data Analyst within the Financial Services sector.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the Mortgage industry, including loan processes, data structures, and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Data Knowledge: Extensive experience with ETL processes, data analysis, and Informatica workflows.
- Agile Leadership: Proven track record of managing product backlogs, defining user stories, and setting clear acceptance criteria.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Skilled in partnering with engineering, data, and QA teams to ensure end-to-end delivery.
- Testing & Validation: Hands-on experience partnering with QA on test scenarios, defect resolution, and business validation.
Role Overview
The Sr. Product Owner will lead the delivery of data-driven products for a major Financial Services client in McLean. This role focuses on the intersection of mortgage domain logic and complex data engineering. You will be responsible for translating high-level business strategies into detailed technical requirements for ETL and Informatica teams. Being onsite 5 days a week, you will drive sprint execution, agile ceremonies, and cross-functional coordination to ensure that data deliverables are accurate, compliant, and performant.
Technical Core & Responsibilities
Backlog & Strategy Management
- Prioritization: Define and manage the product backlog, ensuring it aligns with both business objectives and the overarching data strategy.
- Story Mapping: Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable user stories with robust acceptance criteria for technical teams.
- Roadmap Planning: Drive long-term roadmap planning while maintaining the flexibility to iterate based on data insights and stakeholder feedback.
Data & ETL Delivery
- Technical Liaison: Bridge the gap between business stakeholders and engineering teams specializing in Informatica and ETL processes.
- Business Validation: Lead the cross-functional coordination to ensure all data deliverables meet business requirements and regulatory standards.
- Data Monitoring: Track product performance metrics and utilize data insights to identify areas for continuous process improvement.
QA & Agile Execution
- Testing Partnership: Collaborate deeply with QA teams to define end-to-end test scenarios and oversee the resolution of technical defects.
- Agile Ceremonies: Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives within a fast-paced Scrum environment.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage expectations across diverse business units, ensuring transparency regarding delivery timelines and technical constraints.
