This is my example of interfacing MSP430 with 595.

Two 595s are daisy chained, but you can do as many as you want.

I will be doing more examples, but would like to find a good place to
post them.
Any suggestions?

Nice! Maybe the Knight Rider LED scanner.

You could post them in the 43oh forum, in the project section.

Nice, kinda like my 74HC595 based binary counter.  (http://blog.suspended-chord.info/?c=7)  I did that up really quickly to demonstrate basic SPI usage, and to introduce new users to my favorite IC.

I agree with Gerry, post on the 43oh! forums!  They're awesome.  He's also set up an IRC channel for us on freenode.  Much good talk to be had.
