Hi Jody,

There isn’t a direct way to use this color sensor with the TI-Innovator Hub.

This sensor uses the I2C communication protocol and we don’t have commands to handle I2C sensors connected directly to the Hub.

However, we have a similar color sensor on the TI-Rover which is supported when the Hub is in a TI-Rover.

One option that I used recently was to use the TI-Rover as a color sensor. I built a cyanometer (a blue-measuring sensor) and carried the TI-Rover around to measure the blue-ness of things.

It’s not the most elegant but works well.

Is that an option?

Regards,

- Harshal

Thanks,
Is there a color sensor that would work with the microbit?
The rover would be too bulky for my idea
Cheers

Morning Jodi

My students created this Rubik Cube Solver using Lego Mindstorm.

I'm excited to see you TI version 🤓

Go well 🙏

Hi Jody,

How would you turn the cube?

Hi Fred,

I have seen all the lego versions.
Might use that framework with servo. In a chat with Peter Fox we considered multiple handhelds with a master linked to others via microbit.

That is the end game.

Initially I water to read the colors of the squares on a given side and start with that.

Hi Jody,

Perhaps a stepper motor. It would give more precise rotation and allow for more choices of turning radius.

I suspect there is an .stl file already designed which would hold the cube.
A deeper search may yield more basic components which could be designed into exactly what you want. Perhaps add a mount to hold the calculator and microbit.

I’ll look into adding this https://mou.sr/48zUxbg to the microbit.

Thanks,
Fred
