Hi,

We have a new TI-Nspire CX II HH OS and software release available for download.

This is version 6.3

The new feature in this release is the support for Robolink’s CoDrone EDU drone.

Details of this support and the Python module for CoDrone EDU are now available for general download at

https://education.ti.com/codrone

This release also has several bug fixes, a couple of which are very specific to Python.

The input() command had two odd problems when the prompt string was longer than the width of the screen.

In one case you couldn’t use the delete/backspace key and in the other any input would result in an error.

Note that both of these were specific to when the prompt text exceeded the width of the screen.

These weren’t show-stoppers but were annoying enough that they needed attention.

And both of these have been fixed.

Even if you never ran into these specific problems, there may be other improvements in this release that may be useful to you.

So please update your desktop software and TI-Nspire CX II HHs when you can.

Note that the latest macOS versions have some odd behavior when communicating with USB peripherals like TI-Innovator Hub, CoDrone EDU controller etc. from the TI-Nspire CX desktop applications. The first run of the program takes several seconds to get started. Things seem to be OK after that.

As always, please share your programs, activities and questions.

Regards,

- Harshal

Attached is my collection of 'test' programs for CoDrone.
Interesting features: both the controller and the drone have speakers (buzzers) and you can control the LEDs on both.
CoDrone has TWO color sensors on the bottom but they only work when the drone is flat on the ground.
CoDrone also has a front and bottom range sensor.

Regards,
    John
