not connecting with pc (solution)

i recently treated myself to an eZ430 chronos.  out of the box, i had a problem getting it to connect to pc in windows 10, windows 7, and Linux Mint on separate machines.  i went ahead and replaced the battery with a new name brand cr2032 and now it is connecting no problem.  i just wanted to let everyone know.  i guess the battery wore down some sitting on the shelf for so long.
