After checking these settings, if you are not able to either find the music that is playing, or able to determine why, I'd suggest contacting Apple Support. They'll be able to work with you to determine what's happening. You can also give them a call at the number for your location from this list.

In the Music app , the library includes music you added or downloaded from Apple Music, music and videos you synced to iPhone, TV shows and movies you added from Apple Music, and your iTunes Store purchases.

Focusing on a fluid and intuitive interface, Vox Music Player is among the best offline music player apps for the iPhone, iPad, or other iOS devices. Interaction with the music player relies on swipe gestures, thereby eliminating basic playback buttons from the interface. Swiping up opens the queue, whereas swiping down can close the current window and take you to the penultimate menu.Additionally, Vox Music Player has an inbuilt equalizer with a score of presets and a graphical interface to suit the sound according to your taste along with an option for gapless playback. Besides playing local music files, you can also link your SoundCloud, LastFM, and Spotify accounts in Vox Music Player to enjoy all your music in one place.Lastly, Vox also offers a phenomenal Mac app for playing offline music, ensuring you get the same experience across devices. Hello, thanks for the good pack, tried some of them, e.g VOX, but some of them have expensive subscriptions. Not sure how this list was discovered, but could you make review of another music apps e.g offline players like Deezer, Wave, Google Play Music, Overcast

The official Chromecast app (NOT Google Home) does allow you to cast locally stored music from your iPhone. However it has no option to sort by artist - you can only sort by album or song. Furthermore the playback is finicky at best, and does not appear to naturally continue playing to the next song without manually pressing play. Not really usable.

Classical music has a fundamentally different metadata structure from that of genres like pop, hip-hop, and country. As a result, it requires a unique approach to search, browse, library, and recommendations features. In addition, presenting the data about each album requires completely different formats. Classical listeners also have specific interests, such as composer bios and descriptions of works.

I have a music player with a play/pause button. When music is playing, the button shows the "pause" icon. When music is paused, the button shows the "play" icon - just like all music apps. I can replicate the bug at any time by doing the following:1. Play music in my app (the play/pause button shows the "pause" icon correctly)2. Background my app and lock my phone for 10 minutes3. Double tap home and hit the pause button from the iPod controls4. Unlock my phone and open my app again5. Music will be stopped, but my app still shows the "pause" icon when it should so "play"

This will sync the state of your buttons and music player to the one reported by the API. in the cases in which there is a coincidence, there will be no impact of any type, in the other cases, the player will pause/play accordingly.

My workaround was to set my own instance variable called musicPlayerRecentlyStartedPlaying whenever I start playback. Then I use a method called from a timer to check both that variable and the playbackState property to find out if the player is really playing:

Now if you ask Siri to "play music" or play a specific song, podcast, or book, your phone will pull up a list of apps that you can select from. Whether it's Spotify, Audible, Pandora, Apple Podcasts, or another audio app, you can select which you'd like to use.

Setting a default music player doesn't give that app any special privileges or access to your data. All it means is that when you ask Siri to play music without specifying what app you want it from, Siri will use your default.

Quick tip: To avoid any complications, you can simply tell Siri which app you want to play music from with a command. For example, when asking for a podcast, say "Hey Siri, play [name of podcast] on Apple Podcasts."

If you're looking for the best music player for iPhone and iPad, try our free Documents app. It's super easy to use and can play music in many different formats: .aac, .aif, .aifc, .aiff, .amr, .au, .l16, .m3u, .m4a, .m4b, .m4p, .mp3, .pcm, .wav, .flac.

To add your music to Documents, tap the purple plus icon at the bottom right and select where to import it from. You can add music from the Files app, any cloud storage or even your computer. Documents also has a built-in browser so you can download your favorite songs from the web.

Once you've got your favorite music, just tap a song to start playback. You can expand the music player to get more options. With Documents, you can shuffle and loop music tracks as well as change the playback speed.

To browse more audio files from your device, go to the Library tab at the top of the music player. You can find and play songs stored in Documents or even stream music from your connected cloud services.

iOS 16's biggest new features and upgrades are highlighted by an overhauled iPhone Lock Screen, and that includes a full-screen music player and mini visualizer. With iOS 16, multiple Lock Screens can be saved on an iPhone and linked to a Home Screen, and it's easier than ever to swap them out. Holding down the Lock Screen will bring up a fresh user-interface to change Lock Screens, and swiping left and right will show saved wallpapers. The Lock Screen also brings additional customization options, such as the ability to change the clock font and add widgets.

To enable the full screen music player on an iPhone's Lock Screen, begin by playing music (or any media) on a streaming service of choice, such as Spotify or Apple Music. After the music starts playing, lock the device by pressing the power button, and then wake the screen by tapping it. Tap on the album art in the top left corner of the Now Playing widget. The album art will expand, and the full-screen player will be opened. To close the full-screen player, simply tap the album art again.

When the full-screen music player is enabled on the Lock Screen, the album art fills the empty space and serves as a placeholder for the iPhone's Lock Screen wallpaper. Any changes to the Lock Screen's clock font will remain, but widgets and wallpapers will disappear when the full-screen music player is opened. Like the native Music app, the area surrounding the album art is filled with a gradient that is color-matched to the cover of the album or song. There is no way to permanently set an album cover as an iPhone wallpaper all the time. Instead, music must be playing in order to have full-screen album art as the device's wallpaper.
