Hi all, Here are the highlights from our 2024 kick-off meeting on Saturday, May 4th. For the full meeting minutes, take a peek at this document.
If you attended the meeting or work party, don’t forget to clock your volunteer hours!
From the City P-Patch Office
It’s going to be a dry summer! Mulching is strongly encouraged.
Try to pack your plot. By intentionally using most of your space you’ll help conserve water and have a lot of veggies :)
We should consider adding signage to the shed that indicates Thyme P-Patch is a Emergency HUB.
We can donate anything no matter the amount to Ballard Food Bank since there’s a café and they can use items such as herbs or one-off zucchinis for soups, etc. Just make sure to get a receipt with the weight when you donate.
Thyme Updates
Leadership roles have been filled! See the full list of volunteers and duties in this document.
-> Volunteer Leads: Please let me (Johanne) know if you want to update any of the notes or descriptions by leaving a comment or emailing me :)
Work party sign-ups for the season (Jun-Oct) are complete. See below.
We’re testing out new ways to keep everyone informed. You’ll see an invite coming soon for the new Thyme WhatsApp group!
Groundswell NW manages and distributes funds to Thyme P-Patch. They reimburse us for giving garden expenses. There’s ~$400 left in the fund (provide receipts to Michelle).
In case of a water emergency, there’s a long handle in the shed, dig into gravel near the pipe to get to the emergency off valve.
Garden FYIs
The shed doors need help: tighten hinges/screws. Shelf needs to be replaced.
Marion Berries need to be pruned and re-tied.
No coffee bags in the compost.

At the annual spring meeting, gardeners sign-up to lead work parties throughout the height of the gardening season. They will schedule a date and time and send reminders to all p-patchers.
