Don't now of anyone is following the Google group anymore. I am trying to get connected via whatsap but seemed to be stalled.

I don't know if our City Garden Coordinator, Alicia Choi, is a participant in the whatsap group. Important to include her in our process.

Regarding the compost, there was a lot of grass cuttings in the compost including  lots of seeding grass. Did our neighbor dump the cuttings from his parking median in the compost.  Please no seeding stuff in the compost. The compost will not get hot enough to kill it. We'll be planting lawns in our plots. Took a bunch out into my greenwaste bin. Also "gave" the plastic trash can to our neighbor as I think he dumped a bunch of stuff, including foxtail in it.

Thanks Marc-
The Google emails are still being sent, I follow them as well as the What’s App thread.
Thanks for looking after what is getting dumped in the compost.

Yes, thank you, Marc!

I'm not sure where else grass would have come from besides a neighbor. Did you get a chance to talk to a neighbor or formally give someone the trash can? Or, should we perhaps keep an eye out for an opportunity to talk with them directly?

The whatsapp is mostly being used for quick communication things (e.g., extra plants to share, watering requests). I think it makes sense to keep using the google group for anything that our coordinator Alicia or everyone might need to know about - and to make sure that work party dates are posted in both locations, since not everyone uses whatsapp.

Best,
Jessica

Hi All,

Just confirming that I am seeing the google groups emails that are sent. I am not in the What’sApp group, and sadly won’t be able to join (my correspondence is all public record, so it has to be archivable), so I appreciate you sharing updates via google groups as well as WhatsApp.

I’d recommend some laminated or painted signage for the compost area communicating what can and cannot go into the compost. While it won’t entirely fix the issue of grass clippings etc, it may help. Let me know if you need assistance with this.

Happy gardening,
