Good evening,

I hope everyone is staying cool and well hydrated.

Our meeting will be this Thursday from 7:00-8:00 pm via zoom (Can someone set up the zoom link please? Thank you). Zoom is a good option in consideration of the heat this coming week.

The emphasis will be on reviewing bylaws and seeing who is staying on so we can have clarity and a good send off moving into the summertime.

I want us to also consider that we are all volunteers that are passionate about the TNC. We all have different yet vital roles in seeing it thrive. With this passion comes the desire and sense of urgency to get things done (rightfully so). With this being the case, we all must remember to be patient with each other since we are working as a team.

The last month (and year with the change of administration at Thurston) has had a lot of moving parts but we are pulling it together and moving forward. Keys to victory include: staying positive, recognizing what each person brings to the team, and focusing on a common vision of seeing the Thurston Nature Center flourish. The TNC will thrive!

Thank you,

Jeff

Thank you Jeff!

I am writing from the Thurston PTO, we are hoping to have more current Thurston parents involved with the TNC as well.  I have sent out a signup genius to gather any parents who may be interested in volunteering, and so far I have had one positive response.  I am wondering if they would be able to have voting rights as current parents?  Just as at PTO meetings any parent who attends has voting rights, and the TNC is a sub-committee of the PTO, I assume that the parents would have voting rights at TNC meetings as well?  Just wanted to confirm.

First parent volunteer is Kristen Cella -  kriste...@gmail.com -  please add her to the email list, and I will forward her the information about the upcoming meeting as well.

Thank you!
Respectfully,
Rachael

Chiming in here that I think this meeting should really be in person.
These are important things that you're discussing and deciding upon.

Additionally I think that voting new board members on should I occur before any further discussions on bylaws. It sounds like the board is in violation of them so first step would be electing the board for the next two year cycle.
ALso whoever is the chair upon voting should create a very detailed agenda so that nothing is missed and that you're able to keep track of points when discussing bylaws and roles/responsibilities.

I think meeting in person is important too, and would prefer that. - Colin

Hi Friends,
I put in a request via the Ann Arbor District Library website for the program room at Traverwood Branch Library on Thursday night June 20.   I will let you know if this request gets approved. This would be 6:30pm to 7:45pm, since the library closes at 8pm.

If we do not get approval to use the Traverwood Library program room, we can meet at our house, 2561 Bunker Hill Road, 48105.   Assuming it's too hot to sit in our backyard,  we can use the living room and put chairs around in a circle and it will work.

Jeff, please confirm that Traverwood Library or the Eisbruch house will work for you.
You had said in an email to me that June 20 was OK but would have to be on Zoom.  Will you be in town?

Thanks!
Emily

I'm also in favor of meeting in person.  Unfortunately I will be driving north on Thursday night however, so I won't be able to vote on on agenda items that come up.  I'd try to pull of joining by audio only, but I will have a car full so I don't think that would be practical.

Hi friends
Traverwood branch library program room is available for a TNCC meeting on Thursday, June 20 at 6:45pm to 7:45pm

However  Tuck, Amy and Praveena are not available .  Not sure about Jeff's availability for in person meeting

So let's wait for Jeff's thoughts.

Thanks
Emily

Thanks Emily, I could help provide hybridge meeting capabilities if that would help more people participate - those of us that can meet in person would do so, and I would bring my laptop with a Zoom session for those people needed to connect remotely.

Otherwise, with Tuck, Amy, and Praveena not being available, I think we need to delay this meeting until more of us can meet.

Hello,

The preference is for meeting in person of course. I presented the zoom option due to the heat and wanting everyone to be comfortable at home. The ideal spot would be outdoors if it’s 75-80 degrees.

Are you all ok with some sort of hybrid because doing in person would leave at least three people out. Let’s also consider abiding by the bylaws of taking July and August off.

What is a good day everyone can meet in June? If it doesn’t work, are we all ok with being flexible into July?

Hi all -

These emails were going into my Spam folder, so now caught up and responding.
I am available to meet Thursday 6/20 at Traverwood library, or I can meet any day next week except Tuesday 6/25.
Thanks, Pam O'Neal
