No Gun Free Zones and Reciprocity in DC

In Washington, D.C., violent crime is out of control. And yet, what are the police bragging about? Arresting law-abiding Americans for exercising their Second Amendment rights.
In high-crime areas like D.C., people rely on their right to keep and bear arms to keep themselves safe.
Gun-free zones and unconstitutional arrests don’t make anyone safer. They leave good people defenseless and empower criminals who will never follow the law.
Thankfully, the Trump administration took decisive action to streamline the CCW permitting process and speed up the processing time, dropping the wait time from months to days. What’s even better? President Trump has floated the idea of eliminating gun-free zones on the metro and forcing D.C. to reciprocate carry permits from other states.
That’s why GOA is calling on President Trump and his administration to take further action:
- Stop arresting citizens for unconstitutional “crimes” like carrying without a permit
- Eliminate gun-free zones in our nation’s capital and beyond
- Enact national reciprocity so law-abiding Americans’ rights don’t end at a state line
Arthur, the fight for your rights will not be won in silence. GOA is mobilizing gun owners across the country to demand that the Trump administration take bold action to restore our freedoms.
The Swamp will do everything it can to protect its anti-gun status quo. But if millions of gun owners raise their voices, Washington won’t be able to ignore us.
This is our moment to dismantle unconstitutional gun-free zones and make sure no American is ever arrested for exercising their God-given right to self-defense.
