Hi,

I'm using Webmail for some time. With the last release of Yahoo
extension (version 1.3.4), I became unable to change its settings in
the accounts tab. The only workaround is to downgrade the extension to
version 1.3.2, change the setting and upgrade it again.
Here is the explaining screenshot of this problem.

I'm using the Turkish version of Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 and Webmail
extension 1.3.3b2 (also the same at version 1.3.2).

Thanks...

The Turkish translation for the extension hasn't been updated in long
time. The attached build should fix the error

I'm having the same problem with spanish language. In this case,
updated to the provided XPI (1.40a1), and with webmail version 1.3.3b2

I get to see the following text:

<label value="YahooPref.SMTP.AlternativeGroup.Label;"
id=labelAlt" flex="1"/>
-----^

Thanks for the quick reply and update. :) It works as expected now.
May I help in any way about the Turkish translation or experiencing
versions on the Turkish version of Thunderbird?

It is working OK for me. Shall I try the new beta (1.4.0b2) too?

Actually not (I didn't notice). Now it concerns <radio
label="&YahooPref.SMTP.SendPlain.Label;" .

Ok, this works wonderfully. Thanks a lot ^^.

BTW I have noticed the extension doesn't really download all emails. I
have the yahoo account since long ago, having around 5k messages from
mailing lists in a folder, for instance. In thunderbird I only have
around 300. I also miss messages in the inbox as well (some old ones
from 2004, one badly dated as 2000, etc).

I have shortId selected, and I'm currently using yahoo beta website
(but switching to new classic does not change this at all).

Is this by design?

I just downloaded this extension of Yahoo 1.X.x.04 after using 1.3.4
and one of my accounts would just time out. The time out ended when I
selected "short id" with 1.04.04 (beta?) and switched from
"production' to "new classic" in both the account and the driver.

Now I'm working on sending email.. :-) Guess I better get back to
playing with this beta.

The switching from production to new classic most likely fixed the
timeout.

300 was the maximum I set for the message list, the version below has
been dumped to 3000.

Any chance you can make that max folder email number a configurable
option? I have several folders with 4K and 7K...

Thanks!

It's exactly that first one in kgursu message error. You can see it in
his screenshot. But, I'll try in this WebMail Yahoo version you sent.

Is it, by any chance, yahoo.iMSGList? It's set at 3000 but still, with
yahoo beta, it doesn't download my older emails. I tried setting it to
10.000 without success as well.

I'm pretty interested in backing up to thunderbird my huge mailbox
(specially after hearing on the microsoft takeover attempt)... ^^.

Yahoo could have placed a limit on the message list size. Try
increasing iMSGList in steps of a 500

(I'm back...)

It still doesn't work. I've tried increasing iMSGList so much as to
750000, and still doesn't download all my emails. I'm pretty confident
I don't have that much messages. My oldest message downloaded is from
2005, and in my inbox from 2004 at least, I think. Mailing lists
folders are also pretty much empty (10.000 unreaded in one, just
around 500 downloaded).

shortId is active, new beta site. I have logs of much of the process
(115000 16000 190000 270000 37000 51000 7500 76000
12500 19000 25000 30000 5000 510000 750000 9000, although
19000 and 190.000 got mixed I fear ), though I'm quite concerned of my
privacy should I send them (would be quite better if you could tell me
what to grep for).

Right now, it keeps redownloading the same 7 messages ( I check with
remove duplicates extension ) to my inbox.

1-4-0b13 version.

Compacting the folder should fix the redownload.

Is "download unread email only" checked (see extension's options
panel)

Download unread only is unchecked.

Compacting fixed the redownloading of those particular 7, but it keeps
downloading 7 messages (this time different ones) which I already
have.

Can you email me the Yahoo log files

Jisakiel

I'd rather not, as they contain a *huge* ammount of personal
information (scrambling my email just would not be enough for me). If
you can guide me as to what to look for I can try it myself, although
they are quite big.

That'd be another suggestion: An option to save the logs conveniently
annonymized (that's without showing the email text or attachments, nor
the email addresses or headers - I'd bet there's still a lot to look
for in the logs appart from that!).

If there is no other solution than email you the logs I'll rather give
up, I fear.

I would suggest that you delete or rename existing log files. Then make
one attempt to download or send mail (whichever is the problem). This
will generate a new logfile with a minimum of confidential information.
Edit this file to remove anything you want to keep private, then send it
to Webmail Author. I'm sure that a short file will also be easier for WA
to analyse than 100s of Kbytes much of it irrelevant to the problem as well.

Already thought of that; in fact, I have the logs classified by
iMSGList size, as I've been trying with different values.

Unfortunately, even deleting the logs before attempting to download
the mail is not useful. As I have a huge iMSGList value set, I think
it downloads as much headers as it can, which contains *most* of my
emails of colleagues and friends. Unfortunately that's not acceptable.
My password and session cookies are also stored there (although quite
easier to grep for).

If I get the time I'll try to analyse the logs carefully, and try to
write some awk to sanitize them. Until then...

I see. If you feel that you can trust Webmail Author as an individual,
you can mail your logs direct to him (or is it her?), most people do
this. I certainly wouldn't recommend that anyone post logs to this forum
where anyone can see them.
