What are the downsides of using the POP3 connection (as mentioned by
Gary in this thread) versus the WebMail connection? I've just switched
over to POP3 and from what I can see the only downside is that the mail
does not get marked as read on Hotmail - i.e. even after I've downloaded
and read the mail in Thunderbird, the email still shows up as unread
when I log in to Hotmail via their website.
If this is the only plus of the WebMail connection then I think I'll
just stick with POP3.

I don't know how "logging in from the Yahoo website" would make any
difference, but I tried that and am still getting negative vibes.
