Thunderbird+Webmail+Yahoo! not working

So you probably get this a lot with the Webmail extension not working with Yahoo! but whatever here's another one haha I'm currently running Mac OSX v10.5.8 and Thunderbird v2.0.0.23 as well as Firefox v3.5.4 (idk if the firefox version matters but the more info the better right?) Alright so I'm getting the 'negative vibes' error message - http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/2624/errormessage.png Here are my server ports: http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/2046/servers.png Here are my POP settings: http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/5149/popi.png And here are my SMTP settings: http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/7279/smtp.png I've tried all sorts of combos of localhost and 127.0.0.1 as well as changing my username from styx021 to sty...@yahoo.com and then I tried changing the ports for the POP and SMTP settings to the ones used in the "Running Servers dialog box" and back again to the default port numbers. I tried changing my yahoo! password and nothing seems to be doing the trick. Yahoo are sending you a anti spammer check, do you see this when
logging on using a browser

I also have the same problem. I have checked my web email and yahoo
does not send any captcha.

I don't know if you are still facing this issue. It happened to me
too, only though I happened to click on my antivirus just to check,
turned out kaspersky was running some tedious antispam thingie. Since
I have been using my account on the web for a long time and know and
have used the contents of it I promptly paused protection and set off
tbird.

Hello Webmail Author,

As I experimented and read forums about this error. I think it is not client side. Yahoo refresh the failed login records within 24 hours. If after using Yahoo classic or Yahoo New Mail and negative vibes still occur similar to the symptoms provided above, there might be a problem with the polling interval on the email client.

I set 2 emails in 2 different virtual machines. 1 with polling interval set to the default 15 minutes and the other one with 20 minutes. Some hours later, the machine with smaller (which means logs in and out in higher frequency) got negative vibes error. The other runs smoothly.

I am sorry for the trouble but for those who encountered negative vibes, try increasing your poll value. And one more thing- please wait for 24 hours before accessing your email using your client. Use the web browser for the meantime because Yahoo clears the login failure count every 24 hrs.

I am using the extension flawlessly now. Thanks again for this great software.

I am not sure what you mean by Yahoo clearing the login failure every
24 hours. I must admit I have not given much time to considering
whether running in virtual machines might have some effect too.

However, I have two US based yahoo.com accounts set to check for new
messages every 10 minutes using the Yahoo Webmail add-on. Been
working happily this way for years apart from the times Yahoo make a
change and the Webmail Author has to play catch-up. I do believe that
Yahoo will get nasty if the re-check rate is very frequent but I have
never seen any issues with 10 minutes causing the effect you seem to
observe.

Nevertheless, your recommendation may help some users, always worth a
try when there are problems.
