OK; I admit it. As a 'newbie' to TBird, and webmail extension, I am
totally lost. I have migrated over here from Ypops in hopes to be
able to send and retrieve messages from my 4 yahoo accounts without
having to sign in and out on each one. Ypops has been my medium for
the past few years, but Yahoo has changed that recently ... and Ypops
has not yet updated.

In setting up a test account, and clicking on Get mail, I get the
above response. My first suspicion is that perhaps Webmail extension,
including the Yahoo section, is not activated, but do not know how to
check and/or change.

From there ... I remain lost. ALL guidance appreciated.

Maybe an obvious thing, but your user name is your full Yahoo email
address. When setting up a new account Thunderbird assumes that only the
part before the @ is needed, but this is incorrect for webmail accounts

After fiddling around with it, I now have my default account
working ... receiving and sending. Following the settings for it,
I've established another Yahoo account ... I have total of 4. Used
same settings with exception of course of the Yahoo user name, and
then the outgoing (SMTP ??) server ... where I established one using
the new account information.

When I activate Get on this new account, it seems to connect to
Yahoo ... as evidenced by showing the number of messages to be
downloaded, and shows it as trying to download ... but after awhile,
it stops and advises of a time out problem. I went to the long list
of settings under Options and used the Config Editor to increase the
timeout setting from 60 seconds to 300 ... with no change; still won't
download.

For sending test, it asks for password, which I input .. but again no
success in sending this time ... and eventually it asks for password
again ... and I am in a loop.

So while I have my first/default account working, a 2nd one is now the
problem.

Thanks to you all for the former comments ... but could use some more
now for this new situation.
