First, thanks to all the webauthors' great efforts. But unfortunately
the problem of Negative Vibes is still on at the upgraded hotmail
account with the latest version of 19b42.

But there is improvement from 19b33 to 19b42. Under 19b33, the bird is
unable to do anything via all hotmail accounts(upgraded or un-
upgraded), whatever retrieving or sending mails. But with 19b42, the
bird at least is able to get mails from those un-upgraded hotmail
accounts. The thing is after I returned back to the original version
of Hotmail 1.2.18, all un-upgraded hotmail accounts worked immediately
perfect without any problems, both getting and sending mails.

Problems that are still on with 19b42:
1- The bird is unable to send mails through all hotmail accounts,
involving supposedly healthy accounts--the un-upgraded ones. Error
messages are all "negative vibes".

2- The problem with the upgraded account remains there unchanged. I
have tried all the three modes "Hotmail(Old)-WebDav-Hotmail
Live(New)" .

Pls. help and refer to the above information.

Thanks!

When I try it now with the 19b42 I get the following error message. "
The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and
sizes."

settings:

Same to me. I'm using TB 2.0.0.14, WebMail add-on 1.3.3b3 and Hotmail
add-on 1.2.19b42 in YellowDog Linux 6.0 (PPC).
A copy of the error msg from the console:

Hotmail-SR-BETA: loginHandler : Exception : TypeError.
Error message: szResponse.match(patternHotmailFolderManager) has no
properties
310

Thanks in advance!!

You need to login using a browser and check the "don't show again"
option on the update information web page

With 19b43, un-upgraded accounts are still not able to send mails, it
endlessly prompts asking for password.
Problems with upgraded accounts remain there unchanged.

I was on revision 17. After reading this thread, I went straight to
19b43. I get the following error message with 19b43:
"The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and
sizes."
If it helps - I have two Hotmail accounts in TB 2.0.0.17, and one of
them works just fine.

My Hotmail account started the "negative vibes" "password not
accepted" baloney earlier tonight. I upgraded to the newest beta of
Webmail-Hotmail. That didn't work either; same error notices. However,
if you'll actually go to the Hotmail webpage and login, you'll find
that you'll get and information page telling you about some interface
changes that Hotmail has recently made. If you click "Don't show me
this next time", that page will not interfere with Webmail-Hotmail
operation anymore and your account will be able to be accessed from
within your client again.

Worked for me, anyway.

Luck!

As I understand the operation of the extension, it acts like a browser
and logs in to the Hotmail web pages (in all modes except webdav).
Instead of parsing the HTML on the web page and displaying it on your
computer screen it extracts the email information from the web pages and
converts it to a standard email protocol. The extension then acts as a
normal POP3 server to pass the email to Thunderbird. Any change in the
format of the pages by Hotmail or the addition of extra pages to tell
you that Hotmail has changed break the extension. In the case of extra
information pages, visiting the Hotmail site and checking "Do not show
this again", will usually restore normal service.

Right, after one year of using Thunderbird/Hotmail just fine, I've
just started receiving 'negative vibes' messages. I haven't changed
any config. I've tried to work out a simple, step-by-step solution
based on the comments in this thread, but I still can't get it to
work. Could we create a new thread or sticky if someone has a
definitive solution, please?

I'm having problems too. I've installed the hotmail-1-2-19b44 fix and
asked Hotmail to go direct to inbox but to no avail. Still can't send
or receive. I get message about 'negative vibes'.

Is there a bug in the fix?

What worked one day is not working the next one...

Today, WebDav option did not work in some Hotmail accounts, those created after the WebDav interface was disabled by Hotmail for free accounts. However, standard web mail (windows live) interface works with b45 for me.

I know Hotmail team does not want to have SMTP clients acceding to the server... Are they doing this intentionally, to avoid our access?

Wow.... thanks for the great efforts by the authors and intelligent
users here who shared their successful experiences. Finally I am freed
from the "vibes problem" which has annoyed me for more than a week.
All my hotmail accounts are able to get mails without any extra
problems now. lol

Below are necessary steps based on my experience:

1- Set all your hotmail accounts skip "Today's page" and go to inbox
directly and not to show "the new interface information" for ever.

2- Install WebMail 1.3.3b3 and Hotamil 1.2.19b45.
I am not sure if 1.2.19b44 is able to work as well, but since the
45 works, i am not gonna to try the ealier versions again.

3- Set the mode of the Hotmail 1.2.19b45 for your hotmail accounts to
"Hotmail Live (New website)"

But by doing this, we are still not able to sending mails via each own
smtp though. Our 19b45 seems still to be on its half way and needs
further work. However, If you have a very old account (which was
supposed to be registered before 2001), there is a compromising way to
perform sending function for the time being. Just set the antiquated
account to the mode of "WebDav" and set all outgoing severs of newer
accounts by using it.

Cheers!
