As of yesterday, I have been getting negative vibes through the Hotmail extension.  There was an update to Hotmail (now called Outlook Live), I am not sure if that is the culprit.  I logged into Hotmail via the web and cleared any popups, but the vibes still are negative.  I am using extension 1.4.1.

As of now, three days later, still no resolution.  I tried deleting trash and junk on both TB and Hotmail, but that didn't do it either.

I don't think you're going to get a resolution.  Webmail is no longer necessary to use TB for Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo Mail.  You can configure your accounts in TB without it.

There is still a need for the extensions in some cases. Some users may be behind office firewalls that prevent access to webmail sites, these users can still access their mails using Thunderbird plus extension. I make no comment on the wisdom of circumventing an employer's firewall in this way.

Here's the thing, I am aware of the fact that GMail and Outlook allow TB to connect, but the Webmail app is superior to the in-built features.  Webmail does not return the too frequent log-in error, and webmail allows the downloading of special folders and junk mail, something the in-built POP doesn't do, or at least if it does, I haven't found a way to enable it.
