Same here. An unfortunately automatic update of TB 2.0.0.23 (20090812)
extensions has screwed up 2 of 5 hotmail accounts.
I gave a try and installed last nightly beta webmail 1.3.3b7 1.2.23b12
and hotmail versions, with same results.

Log in those two accounts showed similar output, regarding no cookies
and patternHotmailInboxFolderId has no properties...

It's not the update; I too am getting negative vibes from Hotmail but
I have automatic updates turned off for both TB (20090605; yeah, I
know) and extensions. I updated Webmail+Hotmail (yeah, I know) and now
error console says:

Hotmail-SR-BETA: loginHandler : Exception : TypeError.
Error message: szResponse.match(patternHotmailInboxFolderID) has no
properties
334

when failing to retrieve mail. I'm not having problems sending mail.

I think it has something to do with the hotmail/live.com sites. In the
earlier versions I could choose to which site TB should connect, now I
can't! Earlier I could solve the problem with switching to the other
site.

Yes, I noticed that too. I think I was using Webdav, if that's the
name, to connect to hotmail servers in at least one of the accounts
(Microsoft was periodically warning me about discarding that login
option soon). And this time it's not a noticiable change in the html
code (e.g. hotmail custom messages before showing inbox page, such as
"check this out!", new features and other nonsenses).

Anyway log files sent to group email, Webmail Author.

Thanks for your efforts!

I got the solution: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1488175

I didn't try it but I'm sure it'll work :) I'll report!

It works! Problem now: It wants to download all mails! (about 1000 -
_-)

Nice :)

Do you have to donwload all the mails again too? The counter shows
about 1600 mails now :D I'm curious how many mails there will be...

That Happened to me, probably due to my AntiSpam (Kaspersky in my case) put different labels at the begining of the subject titles, or because they were now downloading from the New Live Site, instead of WebDa.

Stopped Working on 2nd then started working around 4th Sept, with duplicates, but just stopped this morning...

Not Excited....

Guess that's it "New Live Site, instead of WebDa."

About 10 000 Mails here :(

A very clean solution... now live.com provides POP/SMTP server access,
as gmail does. We have been waiting this since.. can't remember ^_^ So
no need for a hotmail plugin for TB.
Just two comments:
1) I hope microsoft doesn't turn POP to a paid feature, which wouldn't
be surprising, though it would be also a very bad move in favor of
competence (gmail service)
2) We should be very thankful to the author for the work he or she had
done with webmail extension. I am.

Hotmail's (Livemail) POP service is probably the best option now for
most users. Some people accessing their mail using their employer's
systems may find that firewalls block access to Hotmails POP servers,
they will want to continue with the extensions. Others may want to
download mail from folders other than the Inbox on Hotmail, they will
also need the features provided by the extensions. POP, by definition,
can only download from the Inbox on the server, other folders are
invisible to the POP protocol.
I think that it's unlikely that Microsoft will do a U-turn and start
charging again for POP (or POP-like access as Webdav was), but you never
know.
I agree, Webmail Author has worked and still works very hard to provide
and maintain these extensions. A job made harder by service providers
who don't want people to use their services in this way.

The native POP support only allows you to check your inbox every 15
minutes. Webmail allows you to check much more often. However, I'ms
till getting negative vibes this AM.

I Have Opera Mail as a Backup, and use to get Hotmail POP, in emergency, so I dont lose my Thousands of Hotmails as hotmail only has around 6 months of emails on server, whereas my Hotmail webmail has years of Emails. I use Opera Mail when Webmail is playing up. Also use on my UX50 Sony and SonyEricsson 3 UK Network....

I set my Hotmail account to be checked every 10 minutes about 4 hours
ago, no error messages. A test email I just sent to myself has come
through OK. I've heard of webmail providers seeing too frequent log-ins
as possible evidence of misuse of an account (and this may occur whether
the log-ins are via a browser or Thunderbird extensions) but not POP
accounts.
