Unable to get Gmail - "The STAT command did not succeed..."

When I try to retrieve email, I get an error - "The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server localhost responded: negative vibes (GMail)"

This just started happening about a day ago.

it also happens to me the same thing, and the error from the console is:

What log files are you look guys looking at that I could post some info on too?

The location of the log files is specified in the webmail addon preferences. go to tools , addons, Webmail, Logging, and there you have to check on 'enable logging', and the location of the logfiles is specified as an option.  However, I cant see easily which is the correct file to look at, as in my system there are many of them.
There is an older issue of this kind which was related to a change in hotmail webpage. Hence, a gmail module update might be necesary

This is not the same problem, what version of Thunderbird are you running.  Can you try a reinstall of Webmail

I have reinstalled both (WebMail 1.5.1 & Gmail 0.7.6)  twice but still getting the same error.

 

I was using Thunderbird 17.0 and it was upgraded recently. After upgrade to TB 17.0, WebMail-Gmail was working fine for few days and then started with this issue.

 

Today, again TB was updated to latest version 17.0.2 and i am still geting the same error for Gmail and others Hotmail & Yahoo are working fine.
