hotmail extention cannot connect to server!

i can read a few mails from my hotmail account. But thunderbird can't
get the rest. it says something like "cannot connect to localhost". my
webmail hotmail version is 1.2.24. And also thunderbird is growing up
on my memory. It's using 700.000 K after a period of time. How can i
fix it?

Yes i use thunderbird in my company so they have firewall. But it was
working well about 1 week ago.

This looks like a time out, try increasing Thunderbird connection
timeout value (tools -> options -> advanced -> disc and network)

i increased timeout, but the problem is i can get new mails but not
old ones. after i got my new mails it says timed out and thunderbird
starts to increase memory used by itself. i saw 960.000 K in task
manager. So i have to close my thunderbird cuz it really slows down my
computer after sometime.
