This suggests that you have Thunderbird set to use the SMTP server for
the other account as the default, when setting up a new account
Thunderbird will always use this server unless you manually override the
default. The default server should work if you put the correct password
in when requested. However it would be better to use the "Localhost"
server that the extension should have set up when installed.
In "Tools" "Account Settings", look for the entry for your Livemail
account. There should be a drop down menu for SMTP server that allows
you to choose from the servers available which one to use for this account.
Settings for my Localhost, (see outgoing server (SMTP) settings at the
bottom of the account settings Window are;
Description. "Hotmail" , you don't have to give it a description, but if
you have more than one webmail account set up, you will need some way of
telling them apart.

using some flavour of Unix as your operating system.
