Hello,

I have the following issue with Hotmail 1.3.9b7

20:19:37--Hotmail-SR-BETA: serverComms : Exception :
NS_BASE_STREAM_CLOSED.
Error message: Component returned failure code: 0x80470002
(NS_BASE_STREAM_CLOSED) [nsIOutputStream.write]
1374
20:19:37--Hotmail-SR-BETA - emailOnloadHandler - END
20:19:37--HttpComms3.js - callback - END

Reading the forum I tried to increase mailnews.tcptimeout property
several time (until 1500) but the result is the same, and reading the
hotmail log file the extension is working for only less than 5 min
each time. So there must be another setting to change to increase the
timeout used by the extension

I am not sure if this is the same as the setting that was present in
previous versions of TB (tools -> options -> advanced -> disc and
network) but according to this link (http://kb.mozillazine.org/
Thunderbird_3.0_-_New_Features_and_Changes#Removed_Preferences) it
should be

Thanks for your help

Last year I had problem downloading large files attachments with webmail. I had increase the network.ftp.idleConnectionTimeout considerable.

It defaults to 300 but mine is set at 30000. If it doesn't work for you reset it back to the default setting.

Thanks !

Changing this setting (network.ftp.idleConnectionTimeout) does have an
impact and solved my issue

What size is the attachment

Well there were several attachments (1.5 MB each) because hotmail
changed their layout which broke the extension + Christmas holidays
==> I had like 3 weeks of emails to download (170 email maybe),several
of them having extensions

Hello,

I have again this exception but it seems the symptom is now that
messages inside folders that are supposed to be checked are not
retrieved. No issues for the other ones

19:39:24--Hotmail-SR-BETA: serverComms : Exception :
NS_BASE_STREAM_CLOSED.
Error message: Component returned failure code: 0x80470002
(NS_BASE_STREAM_CLOSED) [nsIOutputStream.write]
1374
19:39:24--Hotmail-SR-BETA - emailOnloadHandler - END
19:39:24--HttpComms3.js - callback - END

network.ftp.idleConnectionTimeout is set to 1 000 000 so I doubt this
comes from this

I am using TB 9.0.1 + webmail 1.4.7b1 + hotmail 1.3.9b10

I will send you the hotmail log file in a minute

NS_BASE_STREAM_CLOSED.

19:39:24--HttpComms3.js - callback - END

So a bit more than 11 minutes

A 11 minutes is a bit long. Do you have a lot emails or a very large
attachment

I found one email that was 19.2 MB and removed it, and it solved the
issue
But anyway, it seems the connection had been cut before the timeout
driven by network.ftp.idleConnectionTimeout parameter
