Hi,

I was going to post to the list later this week once I've got something
that is more testable (which is fairly close now, although it also
depends on various fixes in other parts of the stack).

It's been an interesting couple of weeks - whilst I've been working on
this, I've found a few things that are lacking with our current menu
implementation (see [1]), so I've had to fix problems there too.

The extension is mostly proof-of-concept for now, and there are still a
few things missing. The main things that are currently missing are:

* No icon support (including favicons for bookmarks)
* No way to access the menus with the keyboard.
* The old menubar is still drawn (intentionally for now)

I've got an idea how to implement the missing pieces, but these will be
things to work on next year now.
