Error while Integrating Serenity with Jira for BDD

Hi ,

I am new to Serenity and i managed to link maven to jbehave using the instruction

mvn archetype:generate -Dfilter=net.serenity-bdd:serenity-jbehave-archetype

and when i try to configure Jira by doing changes to pom.xml and serenity.properties i am getting error

[ERROR] Failed to execute goal net.serenity-bdd.maven.plugins:serenity-maven-plugin:1.1.4:aggregate (serenity-reports) on project ex3Serenity: Execution serenity-reports of goal net.serenity-bdd.maven.plugins:serenity-maven-plugin:1.1.4:aggregate failed: An API incompatibility was encountered while executing net.serenity-bdd.maven.plugins:serenity-maven-plugin:1.1.4:aggregate: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.hamcrest.CoreMatchers.startsWith(Ljava/lang/String;)Lorg/hamcrest/Matcher;

i have tried with serenity version 1.1.7, 1.1.6, 1.1.5 and 1.1.4

have attached the Build Failure report and the pom.xml file. 

Any help would be very useful for me and Thanks for help in advance.

You may have hamcrest 1.1 in your dependencies - try placing hamcrest 1.3 in your top-level project dependencies

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply, i have updated with hamcrest 1.3 and tried to run and getting a new error

FreeMarker template error:

The following has evaluated to null or missing:

Just wanted to know if you were able to download the sample project which i had uploaded and any luck with the resolution for the issue?

Are you also getting the similar issue like me when you are trying to integrate with JIRA?

Please help me by providing the workaround.

Error while Integrating with Jira got resolved after downgrading the serenity and jbehave version.

Can someone please share versions of all depency plugin to fetch narratives and scenario from jira.

Am able to fetch narrative but scenario are not getting pulled as .story

Am newbie to bdd
