Regarding The Project

Mozhi (mozhi.org) is a non-profit & non-commercial educational venture unlike Google or Yahoo. The project intends to create a good atmosphere to search in Indian languages . Many netizans have expressed there troubles to search newspapers, magazines, blogs in Indian languages.

 

Our Motive

 To support all users who are using Indian languages by providing search facility. To assist researchers / scholars to search effectively in Indian languages. We also intend to add non copy righted literature works in our server to enable researchers to search these.

Though the project concentrates on South Indian languages, the coding can support other Indian languages. Currently we support Tamil, Kannada, Teugu, Malayalam (beta), Hindi, Sanskrit, Bengali, Punjabi and Oriya.

 

Applications:

Direct

1. For searching newspapers, magazines in Indian languages

2. Searching websites, blogs etc

3.  For searching wikipedia (Indian language editions)

Indirect

1. For researches / scholars in Indian languages*

2. Searching ancient manuscripts in Indian language*

*for both these  conversion of text to soft format is required.
