An Apology, Spam, and some Housekeeping

Hello members of the ThrowTheSwitch.org.

For those of you still on this list, THANK YOU! I really appreciate you sticking with us.

I very much apologize for the flood of spam that has been spewing from this group lately! The number of spam bots has been overwhelming. My desire to flee Google Groups and find us a better home is stronger than ever, but it might be a bit yet before I have the mental bandwidth to tackle this problem.

Until then, I've changed permissions on this Group. It's still open to everyone to read... and I still want it to be open to anyone who wishes to positively contribute to our community by asking /answering questions, sharing tips, and otherwise supporting one another. To best accomplish that at this moment, there's an extra step that requires you to ask to become a member when you first want to post something to this list. I hope that doesn't scare anyone away.

Anyone who has asked to be a member in the past is automatically one now... so you won't need to worry about this hurdle. 

Unfortunately, because membership was auto-approved in the past, this might mean there are still some bots that are lurking here undetected. I'll do my best to catch up with them and ban them as they make themselves a nuisance. This should improve quickly.
