Twas Chirstmas morn, and all through the kitchen,
There I was cooking and cleaning and bitchin'
The living room was full of paper and bows
Will it ever get clean? Nobody knows ...
My husband was relaxed in his favorite chair
Playing his new Kindle Fire, nary a care
Will was bouncing his new basketball
"Not in the house" was my repeated call
Elyse was sitting next to her dad
Texting her friends, her new Uggs are rad
James was building with his new paper plane kit
making more of a mess and not giving a sh**#@
And there she sat, sweet angel baby Rose
complaining that all she got was new clothes
I took a deep breath and smiled at the sight
Reminding myself, with all of my might
I'm lucky I have a roof over my head
a fridge full of food and a warm comfy bed
A family that's healthy, albeit quite lazy
A family that gets joy from making me crazy.
A family that sings, often off key
A family that means the world to me
A family that loves, we're birds of a feather
A family that enjoys spending time together.
There are times I complain and don't appreaciate my lot.
but don't think for a second that I have forgot...
I wouldn't want my life any other way.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good day!
