Sub: - Celebration of “Centenary of World Guiding” & Kerala Scouting

Members,

With greetings, we are happy to inform you the following and look
forward for your kind support.
On 12th April every year we are celebrating Disha Day with various
themes and details of past 2 years is mentioned below:-

1. In 2008 we organized the celebration in “Sangam” World Guide Centre
Pune attended by 80 members from 9 states representing The Bharat
Scouts & Guides and Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship.
2. In 2009 we organized the day in “Hoskote Camping & Training Centre”
Perambur, Chennai hosted by Southern Railway State Bharat Scouts &
Guides attended by 114 members from 14 states representing The Bharat
Scouts & Guides and Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship.

In 2010 we have proposed to organize the same event on 12th
April in Thrissur
And working out to mark the day with “Centenary of World
Guiding” &
Kerala Scouting. The programme will as follows: -

The main parts of the celebrations are as follows:-
• Seminar on "Role of V. Krishna Menon in promoting Scouting and
National Integration" and release of book on V. Krihsna Menon
• Ceremony on "Centenary of Girl Guiding" & Kerala Scouting
• Honoring of Open Units from all over India who are creating mile
stones and to selected adult leaders.
• Presentation of Scout/ Guide Life Time Achievement Awards - 2010 who
have contributed for the movement.

Proposed programme for the day:-
• 09-00 - Arrivals and registration
• 10-00 - Tea
• 10-15 - Assembly
• 10-30 - Scout / Guide Prayer, Welcome, Self Introduction
• 10-45 - Seminar
• 13-00 - Lunch break
• 14-00 – “Open Units” and its promotion – experts view
• 15-15 - Tea
• 15-45 - Ceremonies & Honors
• 17-00 - Closing remarks / Tea snacks / departures

I am privileged to invite you and your team for the gathering. It will
boost the spirit of young and old invitees from all over India.

We would like to get services of your Rover Crew to make the event a
great success.

Dear Members,

From 9 AM to 5 PM I urge you all to be present at the
Celebrations(12th Monday of April 2010). If it is not possible to
participate in full, please make sure that you are there at least
once, at any time for a minimum of 15 Minutes at your own convenience.
