Dear Andrea, Cherry, Michelle, Karen and Marya - welcome, and thank
you so much for agreeing to be part of the first Thrifty Kitchen
subscriber panel!

For this week, only the 6 of us will have access to this forum. I
will introduce it to the full subscriber list on September 1. This
gives us a little time to make sure everything is working the way we
want it to!

For starters, would each of you please introduce yourselves to all of
us? I know Cherry personally, and I had the pleasure of meeting
Andrea last week, but I have not yet met Marya, Michelle or Karen, so
I would love to know more about you. (This will be publically
available on the internet, so please feel free to include as many or
few details as you are comfortable with.)

Here's my introduction: I live in Poway (northern San Diego County)
with my husband Tom & two daughters - Allison, age 12, and Rachel, age
8. Tom is a high school Biology teacher in Eastlake. My girls attend
middle school and elementary school in the Poway district. My
background includes being a lab technician, working in the education
department of the Philadelphia Zoo, and working as an Executive
Assistant in the San Diego biotech world. I was laid off about 4
years ago & since then have operated a virtual assistance business
from my home, specializing in Salesforce.com database technology
(yawn! No, actually it's pretty cool). The idea for TK hit me in the
middle of the night in March of this year, and it was up and running
(well, limping) by early April. This is the cumulation of years of
trying to be better organized & have a little more time and money to
relax and enjoy life. We've always had to be careful and frugal, but
also have tried to have the good things in life.

So that's my story - what's yours?

My family lives in the Poway areas as well and I have two children,
ages 7 and 4 who attend elementary school locally.

I heard about TK on the news one day and was completely and 100%
devoted to the idea. I work full time and this schedule has allowed
me to free up some of my evening time with my children since I don't
have to think about dinner.

I also like going grocery shopping once a week!

I have passed on this website to everyone I know, so I hope more ideas
continue to flow.

Nice to meet everyone :-)

A warm welcome Michelle - we've probably passed each other in the
local Vons & not known it!
