Understandinglash extension curls, thickness, length, and how each function can elevate your artistry. One of the best things about lash extension is its ability to customize to enhance the best facial feature of your client.

This eyelash extension chart helps you show your customers the different types of lash extensions, curls, and lengths that are available. Learn how different types of lash extensions work and allow yourself endless opportunities with your lash creativity.

Not all curls will have the same retention or longevity. The curlier the lash, the shorter the retention, because there is less of the natural lash for the base of the extension to attach to. So, it is essential to choose the right combination of curl and thickness of the extensions according to your client's natural lash.

J curl is the most natural looking curl. These are especially suitable for clients who have stick straight lashes pointing straight or upward. If you apply a J curl to a downward-looking natural lash, it will make the eyes look smaller and heavy.

B curl will give the straight natural lashes a bit more lift than a J curl. B curl lashes have a bit more curl than J curls, but they are still an excellent option for clients with straight lashes that point straight or upward. Also, the B curl is an excellent option for inner corner lashes.

C curl is one of the most popular curls worldwide. If C curl is used for clients with slightly downward angled lashes, it will give a satisfying lash lift. If used for clients with close-to-horizontal angle lashes, it will provide a fabulous doll eye effect.

D curl is very similar to C curl, just curlier. They are especially effective for clients with downward-angled lashes who want a show-stopping look. These lashes will brighten and widen the eye and give a noticeable curled effect.

Because of its dramatic upward curl, if used for clients with upward-angle natural lashes or with heavily hooded eyelids, the extensions may prick the client's eyelids. For that reason, D curl is more suitable for clients with downward-angle natural lashes.

It's one of the curlier curls, and if not applied correctly, retention may not be as great as the straight curls, but it adds drama and opens the eye more, making it excellent for downward-angled natural lashes.

Just like D curl, because of its dramatic upward curl, if used for clients with upward-angle natural lashes or heavily hooded eyelids, the extensions may prick the client's eyelids. For that reason, U curl is more suitable for clients with downward-angle natural lashes.

M curl gives the opposite effect to what J curl does. Its shape being with a small surface for the flat base and a dramatic curl upwards, M curl is designed to lift the appearance of downward-angled natural lashes. Because of the dramatic upward angle, you will be able to give a lash lift and create a wide-eye effect.

L and L+ curls are essentially C or D curls with a flat base. Because of the flat base, you will be able to give your client the ultimate eyelid lift. L and L+ curl are developed to provide a wide-eye effect to the clients with hooded eyelids, deep-set eyes, and older clients with droopy eyelids. L+ is slightly curlier than L.

The base curl of EZ Lash is straighter than the normal extension lashes, and as a result, EZ lash provides a more adhesive area for extensions and allows for a much easier extension experience for beginner lash artists.

Thanks to its wider adhesive area, EZ curl lashes also provide better retention. However, because of their long flat base, if used on downward-angle lashes, they will appear to be heavy and unflattering.

Did you know all lash extension curls that currently exist in the market, with the exception of J and C curl, were actually invented by BL Lashes? Because of this, we have the broadest range of curls to offer. We believe having a variety of curls in your salon will enable you to serve your clients by tailoring to their eye shape and desired style.

Eyelashes extensions are made of PBT. The material itself doesn't expire, but over time, the lash curls can lose their shape. To prevent the curls from relaxing, keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or humidity.

Choosing the right diameter of the eyelash extensions for a client is critical. When deciding the thickness, you should not only consider the design aspect but, more importantly, the condition of your client's natural lashes.

Generally speaking, shorter extensions of 5-9mm are used for inner corners or under eyelash extensions, and 9-13mm extensions are used for the majority of the set. Some artists mix longer lengths from 14mm or longer lashes to create a Hybrid eyelash extension.

When using the curlier false lashes like D and U curls, remember when the curl is strong, the length of the extension will appear shorter. So, choose the lash length according to the curl you are using.

Eyelash extensions are taking the world of beauty by storm. They help to give you a volumized look that makes your eyes appear bigger and brighter. Lash extensions enhance your natural beauty and can cut back the time you spend on your daily makeup routine.

These extensions are single strands of synthetic lashes (PBT) customized to add an extra layer of volume. They are similar to synthetic lashes and are applied seamlessly to your natural lashes using adhesive glue.

Synthetic lash extensions are designed with a predetermined curl that cannot be altered. The primary purpose of using an eyelash curler while wearing extensions is to curl your natural lashes, allowing them to blend seamlessly with the extensions.

Most synthetic lash extensions are made from PBT, a thermoplastic fiber, and their permanent curls are achieved through a complex process using specialized tools and precise heat. This process cannot be replicated at home, especially after the extensions are applied to your natural lashes.

Traditional mechanical curlers are too harsh for your extensions. They are metallic tools infused with rubber or silicone pads. Using the improper tool on your extensions can lead to damage and even infection. If your curler is heated, you run the risk of interfering with the adhesive glue.

If the pads are worn down or dull, you could accidentally remove your extensions. No matter how expensive or high-quality your curling tool may be, you always run the risk of damage as they tend to tug and pull at your extensions.

If you do decide to curl eyelash extensions, heated lash curlers are the ideal choice. These specially designed electric curlers come with brushes that gently heat your lashes. They are perfect for creating long-lasting curls that can hold for several hours.

Some heated curlers come with silicone heating pads that have a heating element on both sides. These curlers offer temperature control settings and are often equipped with LED lights for a better view.

When the chemical perming solution comes into contact with your lash adhesive, an adverse reaction occurs. We advise against lash lifts and perms while you have extensions as they can cause premature shedding.

Eyelash extension curls come in different degrees of curl and dimensions. Having an array of curls in your lash kit can make a significant difference in the overall look of your sets. The more curls you can provide, the more that you can customise your artistry, resulting in more of your services being in demand.

Choosing the right curl for your client can sometimes be a bit challenging. It will depend on your current stage as a lash artist. Are you comfortable enough to mix curls for a more advanced technical look? Or are you just starting out, and unsure of what to provide for your clients? Sticking with C and D curls in the beginning will give you a good foundation before moving onto other curls.

The growing popularity of L curl lashes can be attributed to the recent desire for dramatic and unique lash styles. Clients always want the latest lash style, but as a lash artist, you want to make sure you are providing a look that suits their eye shape too.

Have you got clients with heavy or droopy eyelids? Or maybe a client that wants a dramatic curl to give their eyes that face-lift look? Well, L curl lashes are here to save the day. With a soft, light and silky feel, L curl eyelash extensions are perfect for clients with naturally straight lashes or eyelashes that have a tendency to grow in a downwards direction.

L curl lash extensions are a step up from your D curl lash extensions. L curl lashes are eyelash extensions with a shorter and straighter base, but still a dramatic bend. This means the L Curl lash extensions bond better to the natural lash and will result in better retention.

These lashes are better than D curl lashes for clients with deep-set or hooded eyes, as they are more curled. This also makes L curl lash extensions very versatile, and cN be used for a multitude of lash styles. We think they look best when applied in a Cat or Kitten design, as they are perfect for creating a bold flick when applied to the outer eye.

Our L curl lash extensions are made from Polybutylene Terephthalate (or PBT for short). This polyester-based material is used in a wide variety of products and is ideal for creating that soft and silky lash effect.
