drag plugin capturing clicks over browser scroll bar on chrome

I'm using the selection example (http://threedubmedia.com/code/event/drop/demo/selection) but it completely disables scrolling on chrome. You can see if you inspect using the dev tools that the selection box is being created even when you click outside the page area. this does not happen in other browsers. You can reproduce the problem editing that example in chrome and copy and pasting enough boxes to make the page scroll.

I already developed something using this plugin and it would be a great saver if I can find a workaround for this.

I solved it applying the methods to the div that was using the plugin instead of $(document).
