Photo browser slow load and lags when swiping while loading full image.

Hi!

While implementing Three20 Photo gallery in my app, I noticed, that:

1.)Photo browser loads first image without small image - thus - if
image is really big - it hands a bit, then opens Photo gallery. I
tweaked a bit so that it would load on first opening small image - and
that speeds things up - but still it's not perfect. Any other
suggestions how I could increase launch speed ?

2.)When swiping fast through photo browser - it's fast and no
problems. But if i swipe with a little delay - to match normal picture
loading delay - then Photo browser is being laggy - because it loads
normal image in main thread. Can it be changed somehow?

Im using native iphone 4 camera resolution images. (small images are
half size cropped)
