I hope there is still help out there on this forum. (It seems to have had a
robust start).
Thred appears to be a very effective digitizer program for embroidery (just
what I'm looking for), I am a visual and tactile learner, so I'm going to
need some help.
I have had an embroidery machine for a whole two weeks, so I am a neophyte.
I have a handle on the "Forms" side of things (I think).
Attached is a thr file, I would like to "Fill" the script with a "Satin
Stitch" that follows the curve of the letters. (Like a lettering program
would, only this is free hand).
If I could have a dialogue with someone to get me going and keep me going,
this will go a lot faster.
Thanks in advance, Allen

Hi Allen,
I changed the settings of this group so anyone can do most anything. We had
it restricted because of problems.
You should just be able to select the form and fill it anyway you want.
Unfortunately, I forget the exact details. It's been about 15 years since I
stopped working on Thred.
But I will get you a detailed answer soon.

Outstanding!!
This is better than I could have hoped for!
Sally, Rebecca, Sue, and Peri, it's so good to make your acquaintance.
(Marion I have visited with before).
Thanks Marion for the tutorial.
I had tried the approach in the tutorial earlier and got the results that
are in the latest attachment on this post, (a picture is truly worth a
thousand words).
The results are generally what I'm after, but the stitches are well outside
the form.
The more I mess with "Pref" the bigger mess I end up with.
I'm sure I just don't have a preference set correctly, the more I read and
try, the more confused I get.
If someone can identify what I'm doing wrong and let me know I can move on.
(I'm certain when I do move on we will have a chance to visit again).
Again, thank you all for reaching out to me, Allen

I'll try to help you when I'm back home. I haven't played with the program in a while, but still have the tutorials on my computer.

I think the list owners and program designers had to follow life in another
direction but there may be folks here who can help. I haven't used the
program for years and even then not expertly.

Hi Allen,
Check out this lesson:
http://www.thredworks.com/le03stitch.php
If that doesn't help, write back.
