Hey all, I could really use some help. My dad is 82, bedbound, and has late-stage dementia. Recently, his incontinence has gotten much worse at night. We’ve tried different briefs, pads, even double layers, but nothing keeps him fully dry. It’s heartbreaking to see him uncomfortable and skin issues are starting. I’m changing bedding multiple times a night. Has anyone found something that actually works, especially for overnight protection?

I’ve been in a similar situation with my uncle, and I know how exhausting it is. Most of the regular products weren’t working for us either until I came across something different. I started using a wrap system from https://quickchange.com/, and honestly, it’s been a lifesaver. It’s not like traditional briefs, it’s designed to be changed without turning the patient, and it keeps the skin much drier. Might be worth checking out if you’re dealing with frequent bedding changes and skin irritation.

One thing that helped us before switching products entirely was using a breathable underpad with a waterproof layer, combined with a barrier cream every night to protect the skin. Also, make sure your dad’s fluid intake is spaced out in the evening (without reducing too much). Sometimes just timing and layering products smarter can give a bit more comfort.
