So, I wanted to run something by y'all real quick. I discussed this
with Shaun Pal over the phone, as it affects him the most, and he's
fine with it, but I need to run it by the rest of you as well.

The Technosphere has been reduced to 10,000 people on a single ship.
Given the priorities of those rescuing the people, this means all the
non-Elric Technomages were saved, and an awful lot of the U of
Berkeley in general. What little civilian government there was is in
shambles.

Also, on an OOC level: Let's face it, the whole "President of the
Technosphere" thing was intended to create a tension and a villain
that really didn't get off the ground as a plot, and is irrelevant and
done with at this point in any case.

So, unless I hear some serious screaming otherwise, this means that
the civilian government has more or less been abolished, and the
Daedalus is run by the people who built it: The current Council of
Elrics. That's the only ruling body that's left in the Daedalus. (This
also means that SP will mainly be playing his Elric character, which
should make things less confusing for everyone.)

I'm assuming this has been officially declared, in part to a "state of
emergency" in the 'Sphere, over the course of the past couple of
months.

If this is a problem for anyone, let me know ASAP, because I'm going
forward with this for my writing purposes.

Also, I'm assuming Bethany is NOT an Elric unless tells me otherwise.
It's actually probably useful to y'all to have at least one
Technosphere PC that's not on the ruling council, but that's up to
y'all. She has her Doctorate and is a full Technomage, but isn't an
Elric.

So...one note worth considering.  Daedalus doesn't actually *NEED* a constitutional line of succession, because it's not a place, it's a ship.

On a ship, the owners are the owners and the Captain may answer to them in the long run.  But the Captain and Officers are the Captain and Officers, and their word is law.  The Navy extended this to Aerial Vessels.

So...really...if the Council of Elrics is in charge of the ship, they're in charge of the ship.  Given the irregularity of some threads, a flying saucer that can hold 10,000 people may be accorded the rights of a nation state but...

Oh, yes. I don't think there's any doubt they can do it legally from
an outside perspective. How the people feel about that internally is
another matter. The Elrics own the Daedalus, they built it.

I'm fine with this.

Bethany is is deliberately not an Elric, as we wanted a Technomage that was not directly associated with the Council to act as a foil against us.

But I did take part in building it.

Hey - guys.  Do we want to do staves anymore?

I was considering that prehaps we all gave our staffs to make the ship run.  We wont have to carry them anymore.

We could have some other focus.  I wanted to do one in the middle of my hand or something - but I haven't figured out how to do the prop yet.
