The advice to be moderate in all things is excellent. Yes, it does
include itself in the all things.
So sometimes , on occasion, perhaps even rarely, you can be "not
moderate".

Consider things like

making a plan: a good plan well executed to completion is better than
waiting forever on a best plan.

Tortoise and the Hare: a childhood story trying to make a point, but
does a poor job. In trying to stick with an animal example, it leaves
a child to think, well if I'm fast, and don't interrupt the race
that's OK, so the boy puts the emphasis on being fast. Based upon the
story, that would seem reasonable.
The hare only lost the race because he kept taking time off to rest
and play.

But the point of being "fast" is when the problem arises of also being
inaccurate.
Like squeezing off one good shot is better than a super-fast shot that
widely misses the target.
He who makes haste, makes waste. This is most common result of
"trying to be fast."

So, get a good plan. Do it in season. Be diligent. And do it
well.
A job worth doing is worth doing right (so you don't have to do it
over ).

Instead of focusing on being fast, focus on being diligent and
thorough and complete, leaving nothing out , skipping no steps. Like
the wheat harvester who must swing the sickle at every step, not
stepping twice inbetween strokes. To be in a hurry to reach the end
of the row is to leave some of the work undone, or poorly done. A
patient, deliberate step is all that it takes.

Let the light of the eye be single. Focus on the task at hand.

It's better to do one thing and do it well and have it done , than to
start several and have them blown away before they're finished. So
many tasks get blown away before they're finished, and all the work
put into them is lost .

A builder wanted to show his efficiency at building houses. So he had
his crew split up between three house and work on three at one time.
They got the foundation laid, on all three, then the walls went up on
all three, but then the wind came, caught the unsupported walls, and
blew them away.
Had the roof been on when the wind came, the walls wouldn't have blown
away.

It is so good to finish a thing when you can, for you don't know when
the winds may blow.

And Yes, haste does make waste. But those who never take time to do
things right are the same ones who never learn enough to see the
waste. You learn by doing what is right.

A good understanding have all they who do the will of God. see
