Listen to music in complete compositions.  Doing so will help learn and understand subtleties of
variations.  That ability for subtly carries over to other things.

Music is a vibrational affair.  Vibrations have geometry.  Geometry is the mother of nearly all
studies.  Even the human body resonates with different frequencies of vibration.

Just listening to the highlights of famous pieces is an artificial shortcut.
It is better than not listening to any, but not near so good as listening to the entire composition to
see the composer’s coloring, which if you learn from his coloring, you’ll be more prepared to
color whatever you’re doing.  Tone, and amplitude, and variations of combinations fitting to a
pattern of one complete composition, these are what we can learn that will enable us to make our
compositions.

Learn from the pioneer composers.  Their order will sooth the soul.
