Hey gang. A member came in the other day complaining of not feeling well.
She was feverish, coughing, and had sinus type symptoms. We adjusted her.
She went home, still feeling lousy. It stinks when people don't feel well,
but we sometimes have to remind ourselves that chiropractic is not
necessarily concerned with comforting people, but instead in facilitating
LIFE.

She was definitely fighting off something. That is why she had a fever and
why she may have felt even worse the next day. FastForward--> she's fine
now. Innate did its job. Toughest part for many to understand is that in
most cases, there is not anything more we (educated minds) can do to help a
body that is already adapting (innately) to a state of health. Medicine is
designed to offer comfort, but symptomatic relief often works against the
natural healing process. Feeling bad with sniffles and a fever was an
indication in this situation that Innate was on the job-- and she adapted.

Want healthy kids? Let them get dirty. Dirt and most germs are part of a
healthy environment. One study has even found a correlation that the more
dust mites found per square foot in a house equates to children who are
healthier than kids who are raised in a house with less dust mites. Why?
Adaptation. All of LIFE is about adaptation. The true health of a person
is based on his or her ability to adapt to the environment. But too often
we shelter our children away from opportunities to develop their capacity to
adapt.

Ranchers and horse breeders know that when a horse is born, it takes
approximately an hour for it to stand on its own. For that first hour, it
will struggle, stand, fall down, stand, fall down, etc... this may not be
easy to watch but the foal is adapting and learning! Some might be inclined
to help the baby stand up, but experts know not to help. Because if someone
helps an otherwise healthy horse to stand before it learns to on its own,
thus robbing it of its normal adaptation process, the horse is much more
likely to become a cripple. How many children's immune systems have become
weakened because of this well-meaning concept of giving medicines and
anti-biotics to keep them comfortable above all else? The immune system is
like all the other body parts- use it or lose it. It needs practice,
especially when it is first developing. * (check out the late, great,
George Carlin's take on this here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnmMNdiCz_s
(caution-adult language video)

To summarize: chiropractic doesn't cure or fix anything. Only the power
that created the body can heal the body. The purpose of chiropractic is not
to help people feel better, it's only purpose is to help facilitate LIFE.

The Truth is out there. Always has been. Always will be. Sometimes it's
so covered up by other stuff it is hard to find. But if you know what
you're looking for it becomes a little easier. Keep LISTENING to that
little voice inside. It won't steer you wrong. We'll see you soon.
