THOT #152 - Harvest Week
There
is an old saying that says: ‘You reap what you sow…’’ What does that mean? It means whatever seeds you plant and cultivate
will develop. If you want apples you
have to plant apple seeds. If you want
beans, don’t plant corn! If you want
happiness, don’t plant sorrow.
There is a story about a Cherokee man teaching his grandchildren about LIFE…
In the tee-pee as they sit around the fire, he says to them, "A spirit battle goes on inside each of us; it is a terrible fight between the two wolves.
One wolf is evil -- he is fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, competition, superiority, and ego.
The other is good---he is joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.
They battle for control of the person in which they reside. As one wolf grows stronger the other grows weaker. This same fight goes inside of every other person, too."
The children sit silent for a moment watching the smoke from the fire swirl up and around. Then the youngest asks, "Grandpaw, which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee says slowly and thoughfully, "The one that you feed."
HARVEST Week- Today, Wednesday 8/17 thru Saturday 8/20 will be the garden harvest exchange. Bring surplus produce from your garden and exchange it for what you may want for dinner tonight! Don’t have a garden? Take home some fresh veggies anyways; there is much to share…
SPECIAL HOURS NEXT WEEK: LP Days is always the last week in August. We will be ADJUSTING ON LOCATION at the LP Days Fair Ground on Friday 8/26, Saturday 8/27, and Sunday 8/28. (meaning we won’t be here in the office for those three days NEXT week.) Mark your calendar. We love to adjust outdoors and love to meet new people. LP Days is an even more casual environment than the office and great time to bring your friends and family to meet us.
Thanks as always to everyone for their help and contributions, most recently: the Cat-5 cable, the glass counter top, the many rocks, the LPs, the veggies, the turn-table, the computer work, the sewing work, and the old issues of Today's Chiropractic. You all make this quite a fantastic place to live and work, and it is quite a pleasure to be your chiropractor. We couldn't ask for better Practice Members or a better LIFE.
Thank you.
