Hello neighbors
Our email yesterday prompted feedback from the Traffic Calming Committee.
Though Thornhill's website shows just the two traffic calming designs from CDOT, we've learned there are additional options under consideration that have not yet been disclosed to the community. The additional options include (but are not limited to) a 3-way stop at Thornhill Club, as well as an option to take no action at all.
We're told the full slate of options will be discussed in an upcoming newsletter, and organized into a PowerPoint presentation that will be uploaded to the Thornhill website.
Most important, we've been assured that a feedback mechanism (such as an online survey) will be included. Though this falls short of an
official community vote, we believe that solicitation of objective community feedback on matters such as these is a step in the right direction.
When the committee's materials become available, we will alert you by email so that you may participate.
In the meantime, some quick feedback: the responses we've received to date on CDOT's concrete/paint stripe designs are trending toward disapproval (a sentiment we understand that the Traffic Calming Committee may share).
To summarize, the two CDOT designs (provided to us by the Board/Traffic Committee chair and posted on the Thornhill website), and the published Traffic Committee minutes are an incomplete record of the options actually under consideration.
Thanks to Committee Member Fred Fisher for sharing the current status!
