Hello Neighbors

Good news!  The survey prepared by the Traffic Calming Committee has the bugs worked out and is now operational at www.Thornhillnc.net.

Again, you must be registered as a member and login to complete the survey, which appears under the TCA tab beside "Traffic Calming Committee".  See attached image.

The survey requires a bit of scrolling and all options to be filled in before submitting.

Please take time to share your input so the committee and the Board may consider the wishes of the broadest section of Thornhill as possible.

Thanks!

Subject: Time Sensitive: Thornhill survey needs response

Hello Neighbors

The Board sent an e-blast yesterday advising Thornhill members of the opportunity to participate in an online survey regarding traffic calming on Elmstone Dr.  (See below.)

The survey asks four questions about Elmstone Dr. from Summitt Tree to Thornhill Club.  We're happy to see that the survey makes no mention of speed humps, and offers a "None of the Above" option for the many members who believe no action on Elmstone is required.

As a service, we are forwarding this information to our directory of contacts, as the Board's listserv does not reach everyone in the community.

To enter your feedback on the survey, you must be registered and sign in at www.Thornhillnc.net

Once you've logged in, hit the 2nd drop down menu from the left entitled "TCA".  Scroll down to the entry entitled "Traffic Safety Committee".  You will then see an adjacent link for the Traffic Survey.

The survey states that the closing date for participation is November 16, 2009, and that the results will be shared with the Board at the November 23 meeting.  This suggests that no action will be taken until after the election of the new Board.

The survey does not include an option for additional input.  If you have ideas or comments to share, please forward them to pvar...@carolina.rr.com.  We will likewise forward to the Board any comments received at this address.

We urge everyone to participate in this online survey to ensure that a broad cross-section of the community is represented!

Neighbors:

The Traffic Safety Committee has spent some considerable time considering some of the alternatives raised at the meeting back in July, some suggestions by the Charlotte Department of Transportation and some other ideas that have arisen since then. Before they go forward with any recommendations, the members of the Committee want to get your input on these ideas. So, a survey has been set up on the Thornhill website to solicit the opinion of each household.

There is information on the website and a summary will appear in the coming edition of the Reporter. Look at all of that and think about what is best for the whole neighborhood. Then go to www.Thornhillnc.net

and follow the links to the survey. On behalf of the Committee, thank you for you input.

The Traffic Safety Committee
