This group/e-mail list moderation and the Free Talk Group

Many of you may have received a message from Mr Hugh Yang inviting to a new group/e-mail list he created called Thornbury Parc Free Talk.  The invitation contained the following:

Dear Thornbury Parc Neighbors: Recently I found our old email group: thornbury-parc@googlegroups.com has been monitored. That means your post need to be approved by owner/manager in order to appear in the group's list. So I create this unofficial email group to let you post your information to our neighbors without any monitoring. However , I do need you guys respect other group members and responsible for your own talking. Cheers Hugh

While I appreciate the intent, I would like to clarify a few things.

1. This group is by no means "old".  This is used to communicate information to the community and facilitate discussion.
   
2. While I personally created the domain/website www.thornburyparc.com and this group, it is always intended as the "official" channel for the HOA and was and will always continue to be directed by the board.
3. This group is moderated (not sure what monitored means).  That means posts/replies must be approved by the moderators (usually board members) before they are relayed.  This is done to prevent spam and to facilitate good discussions.  
   
4. That said, only posts/replies that are filtered are:
1. Spam
2. Personal attacks
3. Replies directed at the board members seeking clarification on specific things that are not relevant to everyone.

Again, I appreciate the intention of Mr Hugh Yang, but just wanted to make sure everyone is on the same page.
