This is in regards to:

- Category: Alternative Improv
This year we had a record number of submissions, almost 300. That's 50 more than we had last year. So as you can imagine, it was very difficult to decide who to accept. Less than 1/3 of the groups that submitted were accepted. And in some categories we definitely had groups that we wanted to invite, but simply did not have room for.
With that in mind, I wanted to let you know that unfortunately, we did not accept the your group for this year's Chicago Improv Festival.
There's still a way for you to come and peform this year, however.
Open Stage at CIF
We have a category called Open Stage. We have secured some small venues which are known as places where new independent teams perform. On Friday and Saturday during CIF, these stages will be reserved for groups that were not accpeted in the category they applied to. If you want to be considered for these special shows, reply to this email by midnight, Friday, February 7th. We will try to accomodate as many shows as we can. If we have more shows, than we can find space for, we will choose the groups randomly for the Open Stage venues. This offer will only be extended to groups that submitted to the festival and were not given a slot.
