Hello My Loves,
I have been thinking about you boys so much recently and was going through our photo shoot with Alyssa from a few years ago and couldn't stop feeling like Thora wasn't quite done.
With shows like Broad City or Difficult People or Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt I just feel like the world has caught up to the where Thora was 6 years ago. I would LOVE for us to write up a pilot and maybe some short bits based off of a narrative plot for our three characters. Last time we had talked about an office sort of thing, but I think we need more of a Sex and the City/Girls/Looking type thing; have separate lives and come together to be ourselves. Feel free to shut me down right away so I don't get carried away in my dreams
My idea was to make the filming an event, kind of like when the Katydids filmed their Beyonce videos or the Teachers web stuff.Everyone knew about it and a lot of us were apart of it. Maybe get some of ours friends who are doing well to make guest spots (Punam, A Katydid, Bryan Gallivan, etc) and have them sahre it when it's done, plus our own various connections (Derek's theater cmpany, iO would def share it, the Katydids, might even be able to get Cecily to share it) really give ourselves the shot that Thora never really got.
Now, I know we have tried this before and it's never panned out, and I know Drew is in NYC, and I know we're all super busy with our own things...I just can't help craving this.
What's different now? We're older and have had sometime to do things on our own, learn new things. We know more people who have professional resources. We know more successful people to help us. Instead of acting like a unified thing, we embrace our separate characters; I'm more grounded, Drew is whimsical, Derek is a solid middle-ground. Our voice finally contributes to the zeitgeist!
Plus, the pic below looks like the best goddamn marketing pic I have ever seen.
Let me know what you guys (realistically) think. I'm happy to take point on this if it makes it easier for everyone. I just wanted to get this out to you all before I exploded.
Learn it. Live it. Love it.
