uploading to esp8266

I have been following a tutorial on https://randomnerdtutorials.com/getting-started-thonny-micropython-python-ide-esp32-esp8266/

However, the latest version of thonny does not have a device option in the menu. I can run my file on the device but I can't figure out how to upload it? I am probably missing something really simple.

Hi Martyn,

The Device menu is gone indeed. Instead you have the file browser (View => Files), the possibility to edit files directly on the device (I guess you have seen it when you select your device and save a new file). Also, you can "File => Save copy as" if you want to keep the main copies of the files on your local disk.
