Hello!

I'm a teacher, the computers at my scool have thonny installed as you can download it at thonny.org.

I miss packages like numpy or pygame, and I don't find them in the packages or plugins.
What can I do?

greetings - Christophe

I just go to Tools > Manage packages and do a Search for numpy

That's what I get...Screenshot 2025-02-17 164120.png
It shows "Searching..." for a short moment,
and then "No Search results".
Even if I search astroid, wich is in the list.
And it's the same on all four computers where I tried!

Do the computers have Internet access?

Alternatively you could download 'numpy' from GitHub or some other location and then use 'Install from local file'.

If you put the downloaded file on a memory stick then you could "walk it round to each computer".

Christophe, which Thonny version are you using?

PyPI search feature was recently change and you need to use latest Thonny version (4.1.7) to work around this.

Best regards,
Aivar

I tried is on a handful of computers.
Mostly it works.
On one of them I get a message as soon as I select an object.

"Could not find the package info from PyPI. Error code: <urlopen error [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: unable to get local issuer certificate (_ssl.c:1007)>"

This computer (Microsoft Surface Pro 11th Edition)  has an ARM CPU.

Any ideas?
