running mode after starting Thonny

on one of my PCs starting Thonny
outputs the message:

- use Ctrl C to interrupt current work

- reset the device and try again

- check connection properties

- make sure the device has suitable Micropython firmware

- make sure the device is not in bootloader mode.

The devics is esp32-wroom.

neither stop nor Running another program works

I use this device on other computers with Thonny and it works very well.

I have also checked configuration.ini, but this is ok

I have tried to delete Thonny programm and app data, did new installation, but got the same behaviour.

Can anybody advise?
