copy-paste N1 lines x N2 columns blocks of code in Thonny

Dear developers and users,

I have a question about selecting and copy-pasting a piece of code of a finite number of columns (as opposed to full lines with all the columns). 
Could you advise me how to do this ?
The question is also illustrated in the attached png.

This is not possible in Thonny.

With current UI toolkit (Tk) it would be quite difficult
