I am just a user of Thonny; I am not involved in its development. Still, I find statements like "otherwise, I'd feel obliged to uninstall the IDE" to be extremely disrespectful of the work that went into Thonny.
The author of Thonny does not owe you (or anyone else) anything. If Thonny does not suit your need, then don't use it. If you'd like to make suggestion for improving Thonny, at least show some respect to its author. I know many programmers that have given up writing free software because they were fed up with the entitled attitude of users. I don't want something like this to happen to Thonny.
