I have noticed that even though we are on bow hall water, and am told a day ot two of city council water comes in, the monthly water bills here are very high.

We lived in Lavington bangalow for many many years, same number of family and even a rented guest wing in the compound and our bill never went beyond sh2,000.  Here now our current water bill in aptA15 is sh4546!!

I imagine those around us with larger families must be paying a fortune going by this.

Am kindly requesting the management to clarify this for us. Could our metre be connected to another apartment? Could there be a leak somewhere etc.

Please treat this as urgent.

Same observation of water being 'expensive' in Thompson, raising the question: is borehole water more expensive per unit? I thought we only pay for the sewer component?

I think one issue could be the wastage when the tank is full but the pump continues running. Once or twice every week I have to call the security to switch the pump off because it's wasting.

Does Thompson 2 still use 'our' borehole water?

Dear Esther,

The most important component of your bill should be the consumption or utilization of water in any given month compared to the previous months.

Any high consumption could be caused by several things:
Increase in water consumption in the apartment for that month e.g. when children are back home during the holidays
Water leakages within the apartment e.g. a faulty toilet that does not stop water flow from the cistern or leaking taps
Leaking overhead tank caused by a faulty ball valve. The Ball valves are meant to close the water inlet pipe when the tank is full
Leaks within the piping system
Faulty water meter

We would need to look at your particular case and determine which of the above issues affect your apartment, then look for the solutions.

Julia, the Property Assistant on site would be glad to assist with this.

Moses,

You are correct in that we only pay for the sewer component for borehole water thereby making it less expensive than Nairobi water supply.

Thompson 2 are still connected to our borehole water and are presented with a bill. They have paid their last months bill
